My Green House

This year I am going big with my tomatoes and hot peppers......I hope......as I made myself a mini greenhouse for them. Because of the rain and not so hot Summers I have decided to try something new this year. I went to Home Depot and bought some tubing, rebar, clamps and some plastic. At first it was hard to work with the plastic...it was a three ring circus between my husband and I putting it together, but we did it. I housed only my tomatoes and my peppers. We had a big storm the other day and it has been raining hard and it is still standing! We dun good!
Four tomato plants and five peppers.

Mini greenhouse. The plastic Tee Pee in the front is
covering my green bean plants. It is still too cold for them.

Maggie's pumpkin plants. She planted the seeds inside and I just
put them out. Covering them because it is too cold. I also planted a few
more seeds. Hopefully we will get the girl some pumpkins this year!

A view of my radishes that came up already! Also, red romaine lettuce.

Oh How Time is Flying By

My pansies and primrose I planted in a big tub sitting on my
antique patio table. Love!

My shelf with shells and rocks. The old cast iron kettle was my great grandmother's.

My Angel ivy my friend Mary gave me. It was
just a small start when she gave it to me.

My salad container turned into a mini greenhouse.
Pumpkin and green beans were up in just a few days.

Canvas artwork I made for myself. Blue beach glass
and dahlia petals.

Spiral rock garden. I planted carrots inside and
lettuce all around the outside. I will add photos
of this again later on when it has sprouted.

I saw this on Pinterest..as well as the spiral rock
garden idea.  http://pinterest.com/nancyslife/  Look
on my Green Thumb board for more garden tips.

Rainbows In Our Backyard! November 2, 2012

Yes!!!!! I took these photos from my own balcony! Double rainbow!

Ohio in October (catching up on posting!)

While I was visiting my family in Ohio we went to the Columbus Zoo. Going in the Fall was the best idea ever! It was not hot and it was not crowded. We had a fun day. The kids ran and played and laughed. It was a great day.
The stingrays were amazing!

My sister's favorite....Gorillas!

Gorgeous Fall colors in Ohio! There was a slight breeze blowing the big white and fluffy clouds overhead and a light jacket is all you needed. Perfect weather to walk around in.

Yellow leaves against the white clouds!! Love!!

A field with old tractors...out in the Country Country Livin' !

What a view off our balcony this morning! Gorgeous!

Salsa Time!!

The nights have been cold with the temperatures dropping in the mid to high 30's and I have been worried about my tomatoes freezing so I picked the rest of the green ones today. I am making salsa verde with them. I also picked all of my chili peppers. I will cook them both up with some garlics, salt, onions, cilantro and lime juice and then "Put it up". To all of you youngsters that means can it...or preserve it!
